Met Gala 2016

Oh the notorious Met Gala – deemed fashion’s biggest night, we always look forward to seeing what comes down the red carpet, since really anything goes. We were excited to hear this theme, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, since it opened the door to futuristic type clothing, hair, and makeup. Below are some of our favorite looks, but we want to know, who do you think nailed it vs. failed it this year?

Coachella Hair Inspiration

With Coachella just days away, we thought it would be timely to share a little braided hairstyle inspiration. Our very own Tami Jensen (a blonde beauty!) styles her own mane with this loose, inside-out braid. Simply pull your hair back and to the side and start braiding. The “inside out” braid means putting outer sections under the middle piece of your hair instead of weaving over. Secure with an elastic at the bottom and viola you’re done!

Spring Hair Inspiration: Low Bun With A Twist

A little styling inspiration to start your Monday and week off right. Straight from the runway looks of Marchesa’s Spring 2016 show, we love the feminine, low bun style with a twist and flair at the end. To style, pull back hair tight in a low pony and use hairspray and/or oil to secure flyaways. Next, tightly twist the ponytail around the base, stopping early to leave the flair like the picture below, and secure with bobby pins.

Oscars: Best Hair

The 2016 Oscars – whether you actually watch the show or not is your call, but let’s be real here, we love what happens on the red carpet! We noticed a lot of celebs opted for a simple hair style this year (Reese Witherspoon, Naomi Watts, and Jennifer Lawrence all wore their hair ‘down’ ), but we appreciate those who went to the next level. This is, after all, the Oscars, and in our opinion you can’t be too dressed/glammed up! Here are our favorite hairstyles from last night – what did you think?
